Decided, for whatever reason to run the Integra out to stay at JJ’s while I was at the Oscoda Pro.
Trip out was an uneventful 45 minute jaunt. Had to deal with some bad call timing, but I really saw the appeal of a less connected car. That may, or may not, stop me from putting an CarPlay head-unit in 57.
It was a nice clear mid-morning run. Great weather. Getting back the following Monday less so.
Afternoon and biblical rain. 57 is still on the bald as hell Toyos. About an hour to get home as the Noah grade storm followed me from Hillsborough back to Raleigh. Even with the occasional hydroplaning and concern about the decision making of the other drivers around me, we did just fine.
Hitting big puddles and feeling the water against the floorboards was a reminder of how light, stripped, and intentional that car was built.
When I got back to the house on Monday, contractors made it impossible to back into the carport.
It’d been on my mind to get it turned around. Needed to pick up a job from a vendor—about 30 minutes away. Why not?
The drive back from Hillsborough and the wicked thunderstorms last night had gotten 57 pretty filthy. And the ants. They were bonkers. Got started, sprayed a light mixture of Simple Green and water on the trail and some other areas on the hood that were filthy. Ran up to the Pay and Spray on almost Capital and hosed it down. Got the hood, engine bay areas and knocked the storm crap off of it.
Currently writing this up at New World after a quick lunch and a coffee. Alignment next week. New shoes after that.
